Theatre Company to Compete at One Act Play Contest

The Wildcat Theatre Company will perform their One Act Play ‘Dancing at Lughnasa’ at the OAP District 17 contest on March 8, 2018 at Ennis High School. Whitehouse is the last school to perform their play that day, and will know whether or not they advance to the OAP Bi-District competition that night. In addition, they will perform their play on March 20, 2018 for the public at 7:00 p.m. The admission is free.


‘Dancing at Lughnasa’ by Brian Friel is a memory play about five Irish sisters, their brother, and a young boy and how they relate to each other as well as the boy’s father who has come to visit. The story is told through the lens of one summer in 1936 in Ballybeg, Ireland. The cast consists of eight students: seniors Gordon Holmes and Tanner Garza, juniors Elizabeth Campbell and Tatum Carver-Dews, sophomores Tristian Westmoreland, Veronica O’Neal and Demi LeBlanc, and freshman Delilah Whitehouse. The crew consists of six students: seniors Abby Clarida and Cyrus Mahdavi, junior Alex BeCraft, sophomore Eric Spaude, and freshmen Savannah Else and Avery Clarida.
