Follow-Up: Sulphur Springs v. Whitehouse

On Friday, the Whitehouse Wildcat varsity football team faced the Sulphur Springs Wildcats.

“[We] upset Sulphur Springs on their homecoming day.” senior football player Sheldon Mundt said.

The Whitehouse football players were ready to start the game and perform at the best of their ability and to work with their friends as a team to take the win.

“It’s like a second family to me and makes me a better man.”senior football player D’marea Sueing said.

In the first half, Whitehouse got an early lead by scoring a touchdown on the first drive of the game and two more touchdowns after that, leaving the score at Whitehouse-21 and Sulphur Springs-10 by halftime.

During the halftime show, there were performances by the Whitehouse first ladies, majorettes, and band.

“I feel like we did well but we got a lot more growing to do” coach Jeremiah Granado said.

For the second half of the game Whitehouse kept their lead for the rest of the game never once allowing Sulphur Springs to catch up. Thus, they ended the night with the defeat of Sulphur Springs with a score of 49-31. Whitehouse started their homecoming week with a victory. Next Friday, Whitehouse will take on Kennedale at Wildcat stadium for their homecoming game.
