The Definition of a smile: To make the corners of your mouth turn up in an expression that shows happiness, amusement, pleasure, and affection. To show or express something such as approval or encouragement. To say something with a smile.

How many times a day do you pass a stranger on the street, school, or at a store? Out of all of those strangers, do you ever just simply smile at them in recognition?

You may be asking yourself: why on earth would I smile at a random stranger! They could be an axe murder, or a crazy clown! The real question you should be asking is: why not? Smiling at people should just be a normality, something we do everyday just as often as we tie our shoes.

Personally, I find it highly enjoyable to smile at random people as I pass them during the day. Whether it be for a specific reason like they look upset, or smiling just to smile. Smiling holds such a great power that I feel this generation has lost. I think it should be a normal everyday thing, just to smile at strangers and random people you pass. You never know the kind of day that person could be having and how much you could impact the rest of their day.

So next time you pass someone in the hallway or in the isle of a store, take a second, just a second, to smile at them. Step out of your comfort zone! Do something that maybe others think is odd or weird. Not only could it impact their day, but it could also impact yours.
